He is also a producer, bandleader, producer and composer. He had long stints playing with jazz-funk pioneer Roy Ayers and then with Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly. He also toured and/or recorded with a who’s who of top pop and jazz performers, including Patti Labelle, Roberta Flack, Grover Washington Jr., Whitney Houston and Cyndi Lauper. He has been based in Japan since 1998.
